Aboitiz Renewables Inc. (ARI), the renewable energy arm of Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower), has inaugurated the 92.55-megawatt-peak San Manuel Solar Power Plant in Pangasinan, its third solar facility in the province. The inauguration was reported on July 1, 2026.
The plant supplies electricity to the Luzon grid through the 69-kV San Manuel substation, and was developed with the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, local governments and host communities.
"As demand for electricity continues to grow, power generation investments like San Manuel help strengthen our energy system," said Danel Aboitiz, President and CEO of AboitizPower. "We believe reliable, accessible and affordable power is key to national progress."
Energy Secretary Sharon Garin, who attended the inauguration, said: "Every panel on this 92.5-MW solar plant is a promise kept – to the families who deserve stable, affordable electricity."
The San Manuel plant joins ARI's Laoag 1 and 2 solar plants (154 MWp combined) and the Cayanga-Bugallon plant (94 MWp) in Pangasinan.
Expanding renewable capacity
AboitizPower's attributable net sellable renewable capacity has grown from about 900 MW in 2020 to 2.3 GW, with 45 renewable facilities in operation across solar, hydro, geothermal and battery storage. The company has a development pipeline of more than 1,800 MW and is targeting 4,600 MW of renewable capacity by 2030, backed by a ₱62-billion capital budget for 2026 focused on renewables and storage.
In August 2026, ARI began construction of the 239-MW Luna solar project with 65 MW of battery storage in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, its largest solar project in the Visayas, which is due for completion in 2028.
